The Pennsylvania State Department of Public Instruction has announced the approval of construction plans for new schools in Lehighton and Palmerton. The Lehighton Area Union School District was given the department's approval on the structural layout of the district's proposed $2 million high school. The Palmerton Area School District was authorized to proceed with plans for the construction of a $50,000 addition to the Towamensing Elementary School.
