State police at Lehighton are investigating a single vehicle crash in Mahoning Township.

The crash occurred at 6 a.m. Friday morning along Route 902 just east of St. John's Church.

It appeared the driver of a pick-up truck may have encountered black ice sliding off the roadway impacting with a tree.

The driver refused medical treatment at the scene. Assisting at the scene was the Mahoning Valley Fire Company. Mahoning township police were not on duty at the time.
