Thomas G. Hood, head of MMI Preparatory School in Freeland, has announced the names of students who achieved president's list status during the first semester of the 2015-2016 school year.

The president's list recognizes sound academic performance each quarter. To earn a place on the president's list, a student must have a cumulative average in all core subjects of 85.0, have attained an average of 70.0 or better in each course, have no "incompletes" at the end of the semester, be enrolled in a complete schedule of courses and have a satisfactory citizenship record.The following local students have earned president's list recognition for the first semester of the 2015-2016 school year:Sixth grade: Keiran Mele, Jim Thorpe; and Dustin Paul, Jim Thorpe.Seventh grade: Samantha Sparich, Weatherly.Eighth grade: Kai Mele, Jim Thorpe.10th grade: Lauren Babinetz, Jim Thorpe; John Malay, Jim Thorpe; Abigail Paul, Jim Thorpe; Mark Sitch, Weatherly; and Cole Wenner, Lehighton.12th grade: Andreas Boosalis, Weatherly; Shaelyn Heft, Lehighton; Sarah Moyer, Bowmanstown; Karalyn Sitch, Weatherly; and Nash Wenner, Lehighton.
