ANDREW LEIBENGUTH/TIMES NEWS Emergency personnel responded to the southern intersection of SR309 and SR443 in West Penn Township around 9:45 a.m. on Saturday after two vehicles collided, sending one man to the hospital. Township police reported that Robert Bailey, of Snyders, the driver of a silver Buick Century, turning southeast onto SR443 from SR309, turned into the path of William Harrison, also of Snyders, who was driving a green Subaru Outback north on SR309. It was noted that a thick fog also hung over the area. Also in the Subaru were William's wife, Ronda, and their six-year old girl. The Harrison family was treated by paramedics on scene, while Bailey, who was bleeding, was treated on scene and transported via ambulance to the hospital. Also responding were West Penn Fire Company, Penn Mahoning Ambulance and Lehighton Ambulance. West Penn fire police directed traffic around the area until both vehicles were towed. Police Chief Brian Johnson is the investigating officer. Paramedics carry Bailey to an awaiting ambulance.
