A 31-year-old man was seriously injured Thursday morning when he was trapped under a garbage truck on South Queen Alley in Lehighton. The incident occurred at 7:15 a.m. just south of Mahoning Street. The garbage truck is owned by County Waste, who was just contracted for trash removal by the borough. The victim was transported to the Ahner Memorial Airport in Mahoning Township, where he was flown by Penn Star helicopter to the St. Luke's Hospital Trauma Center in Bethlehem.
