Crews from Carbon and Northampton counties battled a brush fire on top of the Blue Mountain on Sunday morning. The fire was first reported at 9 a.m. along Route 248, but firefighters soon realized the blaze was near the top of the mountain at the point of the gap. Fire companies from Lower Towamensing Township in Aquashicola and Lehigh Township entered the mountain off Blue Mountain Drive across from the ski lodge COPYRIGHT LARRY NEFF/SPECIAL TO THE TIMES NEWS
