The Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission plans to close the northbound exit ramp from 10 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Saturday on the Route 903 E-Z Pass Only Interchange at Exit 87 in Carbon County.

During the ramp closure, northbound motorists traveling on the turnpike will not be able to exit the Northeastern Extension via Exit 87 onto Route 903.Then the turnpike plans to close the southbound entry ramp from 10 p.m. Saturday to 6 a.m. Sunday. During the ramp closure, motorists traveling on Route 903 will not be able to enter the southbound Northeastern Extension onto the turnpike.The closures are needed to service and fine-tune electronic toll equipment.Motorists should be prepared for slow-moving or possible stopped traffic. Work schedules are subject to change based on weather conditions.The turnpike commission advises motorists to seek alternate routes during the closures by using the nearest available interchange on Interstate 476 depending on the direction of travel.
