West Penn Township's fire chief has stepped down, prompting officials to move swiftly to find his replacement.
On a unanimous vote, the township's board of supervisors on Monday agreed to accept the resignation of West Penn Volunteer Fire Company Fire Chief Clint Schock.Immediately afterward, supervisors moved to appoint Dennis Fritzinger Jr. to the post.No reason was given for Schock's resignation, though Fritzinger noted after the meeting that Schock will remain fully active with the fire department.Fritzinger previously served as fire chief, and said the department has over 30 members at present.
