ANDREW LEIBENGUTH/TIMES NEWS The new Center Street (SR309) bridge in Tamaqua is taking shape as contractors pour concrete for the new bridge. The work is being done to replace the structurally deficient bridge. This project also includes the relocation of utility lines, drainage upgrades, new pedestrian walkways and new roadway approaches. The cost of the project is $3,180,000, which was awarded to Clearwater Construction Inc. of Mercer PA. Work is estimated to be completed by May of 2013. PennDOT added that the completion date is work dependent upon weather. Contractors work in the rain as they prepare to pour concrete over the newly placed rebar.
