Support group

A monthly Grief & Loss Support Group will meet at Jerusalem United Church of Christ, 545 Church Drive, Palmerton (Trachsville) at 1 p.m. Aug. 8. Directed by a professional counselor, this group is for people experiencing grief due to trauma, loss or death. Everyone is welcome. There is no cost.

Park concert

This Sunday the Concert in the Park will be by the Pa. Villagers (polka and variety). The Bandstand Committee is sponsoring this concert which begins at 7 p.m. in the bandstand in the Palmerton Borough Park. Bring a lawn chair.

In case of bad weather the event will be canceled with no rain date. No alcohol or smoking is permitted in the Borough Park.

Breakfast

Breakfast will be served at the Parryville Volunteer Fire Co. No. 2, 359 Main St., from 8 a.m. to noon on Sunday. Large and small platters are available. Choices include eggs, pancakes, French toast, SOS or omelets. Meat choices are ham, sausage, scrapple or bacon. Includes home fries, juice and coffee. Takeout orders are accepted. Call 610-852-2350.

Community picnic

It’s picnic time at Jerusalem United Church of Christ, 545 Church Drive, Palmerton (Trachsville) on Saturday. The rain date is Aug. 5.

Music will be the Hawks at 2 p.m. and The Main Street Cruisers at 3, 5 and 7 p.m. The kitchen is open and ready for lunch at noon. At 1 p.m. will be free kiddie games and kiddie cake walk. At 6:30 is Trachsville’s legendary cake walk.

Raffle tickets will be for sale with the drawing at 9 p.m. Bring your lawn chair and spend the day.
