The Carbon-Tamaqua American Cancer Telethon committee is hosting an open house Saturday, Sept. 29 from 9:30 to 11 a.m. at the former ACS office at 33 West Ridge Street, Lansford.

Telethon committee members will be available to talk to area residents about volunteer opportunities with the organization. While the ACS Telethon airs for one weekend, usually in April, work and fundraising continue throughout the year.Residents are welcome to share their ideas for the April 2013 Telethon.For more information, contact Kate Hofherr at
