Nesquehoning police responded to the Carbon County Correctional Facility last week after an inmate stabbed himself.

According to police, the inmate, who has not been named, used a pen to stab himself in the abdomen while in the booking area of the prison.He was flown to Lehigh Valley Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
