At a meeting of the Lehighton Chamber of Commerce, plans were furthered for he erection of a new plant to house the Lehighton Furniture Factory. To aid in bringing new industry to surplus labor areas, the Chamber is seeking a $37,500 loan from the state as part of he Pennsylvania Industrial Development program. The purpose of he new plant is to have sufficient space to allow a merger of the New York and Lehighton factories.
