Palmerton pool
Beginning Friday, the Palmerton Memorial Pool, 1255 Third St., will begin its regular summer pool hours.
Monday through Friday hours are noon to 8 p.m. Saturday hours are 10 a.m.-8 p.m. and Sunday hours are 1-8 p.m.
All hours are contingent to weather and number of people.
Swim challenge
The swimmers of the Palmerton swim team are hosting a swim challenge from noon to 8 p.m. on June 25. They will be swimming to raise money for the team and for Family Promise of Carbon County.
Other swimmers or walkers are welcome to join and anyone can sponsor a swimmer or the team.

Class of 1955
Palmerton Class of 1955 will meet at 12:30 p.m. June 21 at the Starlight Diner, 233 N. Route 100, Allentown. For information call Dorothy at 610-826-4751.
Palmerton car show
The Pace-Makers Association will host its annual Palmerton car show from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. on Saturday. The event will be held rain or shine in the Palmerton Borough Park.
Park concert
The band Inch & the Echoes, an oldies group, will perform in the Palmerton Borough Park at 7 p.m. on Sunday.
This concert is sponsored by The Concourse Club of Palmerton. Last week’s concert was sponsored by the Horsehead Community Development Fund and the Palmerton Lions Club.
In case of bad weather, concerts will be canceled.
There is no rain date. No alcohol or smoking is permitted in the Borough Park.
Bring a lawn chair and enjoy the evening.
Jerusalem UCC
On Father’s Day, Jerusalem United Church of Christ, 545 Church Drive, Palmerton (Trachsville), will hold its first “church in the grove” service for the summer at 9 a.m.
Following the service, a covered dish luncheon will be held to celebrate Father’s Day and the beginning of summer in the grove.
Please bring a main dish or dessert to share.
55 & Alive for Ladies
A new group “55 & Alive for Ladies” is begin held at Jerusalem United Church of Christ, Trachsville.
The group will be meeting the first and third Tuesdays of each month. The next meeting will be at 11:30 a.m. June 19.
Bring a bag lunch. Coffee, tea, water or soda will be provided.
Holy Trinity Lutheran
Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 502 Lafayette Ave., Palmerton will hold services on Father’s Day at 10:15 a.m. Holy Communion will be celebrated. The church council will meet at 11:30 a.m.
Bible study is held Mondays from 1:30-3 p.m. at St. Matthew’s and Thursdays from 10:30 a.m. to noon at Holy Trinity in the adult education room.
You are invited to one or both study times.
Faith Alive Church
Faith Alive Church, 678 Pine St., Palmerton (Bowmanstown) will hold its Vacation Bible School for 5 days, June 18-22 at 6 p.m. The theme is “Game On.”
Children ages 3 to sixth grade are invited to participate. Dinner will be provided from 5-6 p.m. each evening.
Fire company picnic
Parryville Volunteer Fire Company No. 2, 359 Main St. will hold a picnic from 3-10 p.m. on Saturday. A new firetruck dedication will be held at 4 p.m.
A cakewalk will be at 5 p.m. Live music by Olde Friends will be from 6-9 p.m. Activities include a Chinese auction, meat raffle and kid games.
Enjoy food, funnel cake and ice cream.
The event is held rain or shine. Bring a lawn chair and enjoy the evening.
Gaming Grotto
The Gaming Grotto will be held at the Fire Escape Coffee House, Delaware Avenue, Palmerton from 7-11 p.m. on Friday.
Join family and friends, enjoy the food and play some games, ranging from board games, to video games and even an RPG group.
Teddy bear tea
A teddy bear tea will be held at the Palmerton Area Library, 402 Delaware Ave., from 6-7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. This is for girls entering kindergarten to first grade.
Bring your favorite bear. Learn what Girl Scouting is all about.
Library board
The Palmerton Library board of directors will meet at 4 p.m. June 20 at the library. Meetings are open to the public.
Breakfast buffet
An all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet will be held from 8 a.m. to noon Sunday at the Bowmanstown Rod & Gun Club, 525 Club Road, Palmerton. Items include eggs to order, ham, hash, bacon, sausage, potatoes, etc.
Wing, taco and clam specials are held each Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. Dinner is served Friday nights from 4-8 p.m.
Sunday school picnic
Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church, Picnic Grove, 500 Church Drive, Palmerton (Trachsville) Located off Route 209 behind Towamensing Fire Company, is holding a Sunday school picnic on June 23. The rain date is June 24.
The picnic starts at noon, service starts at 2 p.m.
The old-fashioned cake walk for all ages starts around 3 p.m. For more information, call 610-681-5200.
