ANDREW LEIBENGUTH/TIMES NEWS Wild land firefighters from Fire District 18 volunteered their time providing a fire prevention presentation recently in the Locust Lake State Park amphitheater in Barnesville. The event also consisted of a visit with Smokey Bear. During the presentation, Forest Fire Warden Dave Duffy went over various ways they control forest fires, ranging from small to large. In addition to spending time discussing the varying aspects of logic and preparedness that go into fighting these types of fires, Duffy also talked about fire break lines, firefighting tools, methods, and fire preventions. Duffy talks to visitors about tree diseases and their relation to fighting forest fires.
