No students are permitted.Sheila Lanshe, who serves as the student assistance program coordinator, explained the importance behind the event."It's a great opportunity for our parents to come out and see what current drug trends are out there, and to help their kids make the right choices," Lanshe said. The event ismade possible by the Lehigh County Office of Drug and Alcohol Abuse Northampton County Drug and Alcohol Center for Humanistic Change Inc.By taking part in this interactive program, participants will be able to identify drugs popular with teens and young adults today; signs and symptoms of someone using; effects of use on health, relationships, and life; local resources; and where to get help.It will also include a Mock Teen Bedroom, a program for adults only, and will challenge parents and caregivers to try to find hidden items such as mock drugs, seemingly real containers that are actually "Stash Safes," drug paraphernalia, and common household items that can indicate abuse.
