Schuylkill County Courthouse was closed today as a result of unspecified threats, a report states.

According to an email sent from the Schuylkill Office of Emergency Management, "This morning, a threat was received to the Schuylkill County Courthouse. The Schuylkill County Sheriff's office along with local law enforcement have conducted an evacuation and are currently searching of all county buildings."The county commissioners, president judge and the county administrator have acted out of an abundance of caution, to suspend operations at all county offices for today, Dec. 12, 2016."As the investigation by the Pottsville Police Department and the sheriff's department continues, periodic updates will be provided, the statement says.
