Work is progressing on the replacement of the Center Street bridge in Tamaqua. A steel temporary bridge is expected to delivered to the Cedar Street bridge work site in the next week. Subcontractors with PennDOT are in the process of installing temporary shoring for the temporary bridge, which will divert traffic around the old bridge. Traffic is expected to be switched onto the new bridge by the end of May. Contractors pointed out the timeline is tentative and subject to change. Completion of the bridge is estimated to be around July of next year.
