Prosecutor wants to see constable removed over crystal meth charges

TUNKHANNOCK - A northeastern Pennsylvania prosecutor wants to remove from office a constable charged with selling crystal methamphetamine to an undercover informant.

Shane Fryer, 31, of Laceyville, was charged Dec. 7 by Wyoming County detectives. Now their boss, District Attorney Jeff Mitchell, has filed a court petition to remove Fryer from office.Fryer is elected and took office in January 2014. His term is believed to last through 2020.The DA's petition says Fryer should be removed because his job as constable "requires ethical conduct and the trust of the public."
