Lehighton Area High School's cheerleading team won their second straight Lehigh Valley title during the third annual LV cheerleading competition held in the Lehighton High School gym before more than 700 persons.

Lehighton's team, coached by Miss Sharon Rudy, who is also girls' physical education and girls' basketball coach, have won the honors twice - 1972 and this year.Members of the team are Chris Osmola, Noni Diehl, Susan Bennett, Clair Levine, Susan Lehigh, Kim Kuntz and Deanna Koons.Northwestern finished third this year, with the Bangor squad taking second place honors.
