December 31, 2008 — Six Palmerton players and five from Panther Valley are named to the Times News First Team All-Star football squad. Blue Bombers to make the team include Matt Falcone (specialist), Jeff Noyes (RB), Austin Cseh (WR), Gregg Romig (OL), Kevin Booth (LB) and Alex Graver (K). Panthers on the first team are Kyle McAvoy (RB), Ryan Fritzinger (OL), Casey Lawrence (specialist), Jake Dunn (LB) and Tom Eisenhower (DB). Palmerton, coached by Paul McArdle, had a 9-3 record, while PV, coached by Frank Damian, went 7-3.
