Forecast: 4-6 inches of snow
The National Weather Service in Mount Holly has issued a winter weather advisory for snow, which is in effect from 8 tonight until 10 a.m. Friday.
Snow accumulations of 4 to 6 inches are possible.
A mix of rain and snow in the higher elevations and rain in the valleys will overspread the I-80 corridor this evening. Precipitation will transition to snow from north to south before midnight. The snow will become moderate to heavy at times overnight tonight and early Friday morning before gradually tapering off through late morning.
Roads will become snow covered and slippery. Poor visibility in heavier snow could also impact driving. Conditions will result in hazardous travel for the Friday morning commute.
