State police at Frackville

State police at Frackville reported on the following crashes:

• Three people were hurt in a two-vehicle crash at 5:47 p.m. July 17 at the intersection of Route 309 and Pine Avenue in Rush Township.

Police said Eileen E. Lechleitner, 78, Rebecca L. Ferraira, 30, and Joshua W. Hineline, 32, all of Nesquehoning, were injured.

Lechleitner was transported to the St. Luke’s Hospital, Miners Campus, Coaldale, while Hineline was transported to the Lehigh Valley Hospital, Carbon Campus, Mahoning Township. Both were transported by the Tamaqua Community Ambulance Association.

Police said they had minor injuries, as did Ferraira, who was not transported from the scene.

Police said the crash occurred when Lechleitner, driving a Jeep Compass, attempted to turn left onto Pine Avenue from Route 309. Her vehicle was struck by a GMC Terrain driven by Ferraira who was northbound at the time.

Police said the Terrain continued off the right side of the road where it struck two parked vehicles.

Hineline was a passenger with Ferraira, as were three juveniles, ages 8, 5 and 1. They were uninjured.

Police said Lechleitner was cited for the crash.

• No one was hurt in a one-vehicle crash at 1:06 p.m. July 8 on the Wildcat Road in Walker Township.

Police said a 17-year-old boy from Tamaqua was driving a Audi eastbound when he swerved to avoid striking a deer and hit a culvert drain and embankment. Two 17-year-old passengers were with the operator, one from New Ringgold and the other from Tamaqua.

• Derrick Brice Jr., 35, of Clayton, New York, escaped injuries in a crash at 4:13 a.m. July 4 on Interstate 81 in Mahanoy Township.

Police said he was driving a 2023 Dodge Challenger southbound when it veered off the roadway, traveled on the median and struck several large rocks. The car then crossed both lanes of the interstate and came to rest on the shoulder of the road.

Police said Brice was cited for failure to remain within his lane of traffic.

• Lucille E. Gonzalez, 41, of Mahanoy Plane, was uninjured in a one-vehicle crash at 8:35 a.m. July 10 on Skyline Drive in New Castle Township.

Police said she was driving a Hyundai Elantra southbound when she lost control, striking a guide wire off the left side of the road. The car was towed from the scene.
