Pale Moon Players to perform Disney’s ‘The Lion King Jr.’

The Pale Moon Players will present Disney’s “The Lion King Jr.” at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 3 through Saturday, Aug. 5 at the Lehighton Area Middle School.

The 60-minute musical is based on the Broadway production directed by Julie Taymor and the 1994 Disney film.

The Pale Moon Players cast contains 35 children led by Dave Zimmerman, Laurel Zimmerman and Michelle Stoudt.

“The Lion King Jr.” tells the story of the epic adventures of a curious cub named Simba (Zac Andreas and Wesley Tkach) as he struggles to accept the responsibilities of adulthood and his destiny as king.

Along the way, the young lion encounters a colorful cast of characters including spunky lioness Nala (Charlotte Tkach and Claire Foeller), charismatic meerkat Timon (Vivian Zimmerman), and lovable warthog Pumbaa (Breanna Demage).

To claim his rightful place on the throne and save his beloved Pridelands, Simba must find his inner strength and confront his wicked Uncle Scar (Aiden Wowk). The show features classic songs from the film such as “Hakuna Matata” and the award-winning “Can You Feel the Love Tonight” as well as additional songs written for the Broadway production.

Rounding out the cast of characters are Freyja Marks, Andrew Hrusovsky, Elenore Colancecco, Lucy Sander, Lilly Andreas, Annaliese Remmel, Lila Cremeens, Eve Haupt, Delia Keiser, Bella Eckhart, Quinn Haydt, Emily Dick, Kiersten Diehl, Katherine Diehl, Reid Lichtenwalner, Daisy James Dougherty, Avery Snyder, Kellen Kresge, Ajah Neff, Madision Brown, Anna Haydt, Molly Wanamaker, Sophia Wanamaker, Luke Searfoss, Brandon Firtion, Sean Goodbred, Ben Goodbred, Ben Yaeger, and Amelia Yaeger.
