West 10s pick up All-Star victory
A big fifth inning helped the West top the East 20-14 to claim the Panther Valley 9-10-Year-Old Little League Tournament title.
Trailing 11-9, the West erupted for 10 runs to take the lead, one it wouldn’t relinquish.
Brayden Schultz doubled among his two hits and had four RBIs while also scoring twice for the West. Gavin Lutz was 2-for-3 with a double, two RBIs, two runs scored and a walk for the winners.
Brady Bartczak added three hits and scored four times, while Liam McCormick collected two hits, had a pair of RBIs and scored twice. Blake Demyanovich also doubled with two RBIs and scored a run, while Kroy Tirpak added a hit with two RBIs and a run scored. Damian Boretsky also had a hit, two walks and scored twice, while Aiden Barrett added a hit and scored a pair of runs.
Connor Jones worked two solid innings in relief, striking out five without surrendering a hit.
Jaxon O’Shura was 2-for-3 with a triple, RBI and three runs scored for the East. O’Shura also pitched two and two-thirds innings of relief, striking out six while allowing just two hits. Cameron Moyer also had three RBIs, while Jackson Engelbert added a hit, two RBIs and scored twice.
Jonathan Bieling also had a hit, two RBIs and scored a run, and Cameron Troxell (two runs scored, walk) and Bentley Tomsic (run scored, walk), Bentley Stevens (run scored, two walks) each had a hit and an RBI.
