Chestnuthill Twp. puts four properties up for sale
After buying four parcels of land and tearing down the dilapidated structures on each, the Chestnuthill Township supervisors put them up for sale during their meeting on Tuesday.
The township bought the parcels for $1 each, tore down the structures and now has appraisals for each piece of land.
The appraisals are: $3,500 for 7 Apple Lane; $4,500 for 133 Storm Ave.; $3,000 for 1 Apple Tree Lane; and $4,500 for one on Bluegrass Lane.
Supervisors also passed a request for $13,162.50 for West End Fire Company Emergency Service building HVAC.
Supervisors also tabled advertising for a solar overlay ordinance.
A motion passed for township manager David Albright to sign documents for a name change on Pennsylvania Department of Transportation’s highway occupancy permit from “WE Fire Company” to “Chestnuthill Township.”
Supervisors also tabled a parcel donation to Pocono Heritage Land Trust parcel donation, but authorize to advertise for bids for Little Mexico trail head.
Two $40,000 grants were received for the project, one from the Department of Conservation and Natural Resources and one from the county. The trail head had been owned by the D&L Trail and has six parking spots.
It was approved for June O’Neill to attend a tax collector conference Oct. 20-21 for $582 plus meals and mileage. The Pleasant Valley School District splits this bill.
The Pleasant Valley Assembly of God land development plan was tabled.
McDonald’s withdrew the plan for site improvement and that letter was accepted by the board.
During public comment several residents asked questions about the overlay district. Township solicitor Tim McManus explained that the process for this ordinance is the same as for zoning code ordinances.
Resident Erin Dooner asked if she could start a petition against solar energy in the Township and was informed that she could. Dooner stated “Wildlife, wells, birds and fires concern her as well as health concern” from solar power.
The next meeting of the Chestnuthill Township board of supervisors will be at 7 p.m. Aug. 15.
