Chris Ondrus resigned as president of the Lansford Borough Council last night, but opted to retain his membership on the board.

With Mayor George Krajnak absent, solicitor Michael Green said it was up to the vice president, Shawn Nihen, to chair the reorganization.

Nihen was the only one nominated for the presidency and was elected by unanimous vote. Leonard Alabovitz was named vice president, also by unanimous consent of the council members.

Nihen then appointed Ondrus chairman of the Public Works Committee and Alabovitz was named to chair the Public Safety Committee.
