Monroe County man faces drug trafficking charges

A Monroe County man was charged by a federal grand jury with drug trafficking and possession of multiple firearms, the U.S. Attorney’s Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania announced last week.

Pernell Riddick, 34, of was charged with trafficking methamphetamine, fentanyl, and cocaine. He was also indicted for possessing multiple firearms while operating his drug trafficking operation.

According to U.S. Attorney Gerard M. Karam, the indictment charges Riddick with possession with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine, fentanyl, and cocaine on Sept. 2, 2022. The indictment also charges Riddick with possessing a firearm during his drug trafficking.

This matter was investigated by the Pocono Mountain Regional Police Department, the Monroe County District Attorney’s Office, and the Drug Enforcement Administration.

Assistant U.S. Attorney Brian J. Gallagher is prosecuting the case.

Riddick faces a maximum penalty of life in prison, a $10 million fine, and a lifetime term of supervised release following imprisonment.
