Behavioral Health Associates in Mahoning Township may add another classroom on its property.

Supervisors on Wednesday granted Behavioral Health Associates a conditional use for their property at 2466 Mahoning Dr. East.

The board granted the conditional use for the extra classroom after it heard from Scott Strausberger, director of Mahoning Valley Academy.

Strausberger said the additional classroom would allow more services for students.

He said they service local school districts, as well as districts in several other counties.

Strausberger said it’s a population (autism) that is underserved.

He said they would also explore moving services into other counties.

“There would be no additional expansion at this site,” Strausberger said.

The board granted the request with the condition that it serve autistic or like-minded students.
