West Penn Township supervisors took the following action this week:

• Tabled the planning commission’s recommendation to approve the Susan Schenk minor subdivision.

• Accepted the planning commission’s recommendation and approved the Metters & Dunn subdivision plan, contingent on comments being satisfied from Bill Brior and the Schuylkill County Planning Commission.

• Accepted the planning commission’s recommendation and approved the Mateyak & Hunt subdivision plan, contingent on all comments being satisfied from Bill Brior and the Schuylkill County Planning Commission.

• National Night Out will be from 5-8 p.m. Aug. 1 at the West Penn Township Fire Company.

• Announced that the West Penn Township Lions Club will hold its HERO awards, as well as the dedication of its new basketball hoops/equipment at the West Penn Park at 6 p.m. Aug. 16.
