Walter J. Zlomsowitch, 53, of New Mahoning, Lehighton R.2, is the newest member of the Mahoning Township Board of Supervisors, having been appointed to the position on Wednesday night to fill the unexpired term of David Pollock, who resigned in June.

The appointment of the new board member came on a unanimous vote, with Chairman Timothy M. Eckhart and Supervisor Charles R. Eidem voting affirmatively to Zlomsowitch’s appointment. The term runs through Dec. 31, 1989.

Shortly after the vote, Attorney Holly Heintzelman, township solicitor, administered the oath of office to the new board member.
