State police at the Lehighton barracks said a sobriety checkpoint they conducted on July 1 at the intersection of East Lizard Creek Road and Bank Street in Bowmanstown resulted in four people being charged.

Police said three people were arrested for driving under the influence and one person was arrested for drug possession.

Several written and verbal warnings and a number of traffic citations were also issued, police said.
