Ben Salem UCC, 1965 Church Hill Road, Lehighton will hold Sunday worship service at 9 a.m. for July and August.

The Barnstormer Concert will be held at Ben Salem at 7:30 p.m. July 8. Repertoire of Oldies, Pop, Show and Patriotic tines. Free admission with a free will offering.

Trinity Happenings

First Friday worship with Holy Communion at Trinity Lutheran Church, 175 S. Third St., Lehighton, is at 11 a.m. on July 7.

Sunday worship with Holy Communion begins at 9:30 a.m. The Rev. Nancy Moore presides.

The Food Pantry is open from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Tuesdays (and third Tuesday from 5:30 to 7 p.m.) with an outdoor drive-up setting. Residents who reside in the Lehighton Area School District are eligible to receive supplemental food. Participants must remain in their vehicle at time of pick up. Pantry volunteers will assist pedestrians/those not in vehicles.

The Trinity Thrift Store hours are 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Wednesdays; 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursdays and Saturdays. Donation drop-offs are accepted during store hours on Wednesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays, limited to five bags or boxes. Sales receipts support the food pantry. Community Vacation Bible School is Aug. 1-3 at 6 p.m. Free registration for children Pre-K through grade 6 is available by contacting the church office during business hours. In addition, volunteer opportunities are available.

Following the progress of the University of Illinois 2023 “Illini 4000” bike team, they are pedaling across Colorado this week. They have pedaled more than 2,200 miles on their way to reach their end point in San Francisco in mid-August.
