Volunteers clean up stretch of Route 209

Lehigh Anthracite employees and family members celebrated “Earth Week” on May 13, cleaning up litter along Route 209 from Tamaqua Plaza east to Coaldale Borough. Both Tamaqua's American Hose Fire Co. and Coaldale Fire Co. assisted in the efforts, which netted more than 40 bags of trash, two televisions, a couch and 10 tires.
