Local Roundup: Results from June 29
Franklin Township and Tamaqua both earned key wins Thursday in the District 18 9-10 Little League tournament.
In other summer baseball action, Northern Valley and Carbon each suffered Legion losses, while Palmerton and Franklin Township dropped Connie Mack games.

Weatherly-Franklin Twp.
Myles Meek and Miles Mann combined on a four-inning no-hitter as Franklin Township blanked Weatherly 11-0 to move one win away from the District 18 9-10 Little League South Division championship.
Mann started and went 1 2/3 innings, striking out three. Meek tossed the final 2 1/3 frames and finished with four strikeouts.
Both pitchers also contributed offensively, as Meek went 2-for-2 with two runs and an RBI, and Mann also finished 2-for-2 with one run and an RBI.
The winners also received two runs from both Christian Snyder and Jake Kistner, while Jakoby Andrews added a double and a run.
Franklin will play either Tamaqua or Weatherly on Sunday in hopes of gaining the South title.

Tamaqua-Jim Thorpe
Brayden Schultz collected six RBIs to help power Tamaqua to a 13-5 victory over Jim Thorpe in a District 18 9-10 Little League loser’s bracket contest.
Schultz had two hits, one a double, to lead the winners - who jumped out to an early advantage with four runs in the first inning.
Tamaqua put the game away with a five-run fifth frame. Schultz, Abram Graver, Aiden Barrett and Kody Tirpak all knocked in runs during the big inning.
Starting pitcher Graver struck out three in 1 2/3 scoreless innings. Jackson Faust tossed the final three frames, fanning seven.
Grayson Smith added a double and two RBIs, while Evan Shannon and Brady Bartczak both ended with a hit and two runs.
Tamaqua will now face Weatherly Saturday in the South Division loser’s bracket final.

Franklin Township
Southern Lehigh Grey rallied multiple times to gain a 14-10 Lehigh Valley Connie Mack victory over Franklin Township.
FT used a five-run first inning to grab an early lead, but Solehi countered that with a five-run fifth frame.
Pierce Goida paced Franklin with three hits and an RBI, while Chase Llwellyn added two hits (one a double), scored twice and knocked in two.
The winners received three hits and five RBIs from B. Barone. Joey Kloiber, Lucas Sutyak and Jack Fistner all finished with two hits.

Nazareth-Palmerton
Nazareth scored six times in both the first and second innings and cruised to an 18-1 Lehigh Valley Connie Mack win over Palmerton.
Max Zellers had two hits and four RBIs for Nazareth, while Chase Skutsches added a pair of hits (one a double), two runs and three RBIs.
Palmerton’s two hits were both doubles, one each from Nate Frantz and Dillon Uhnak.

S. Parkland-C. Monarchs
South Parkland rallied for four runs in the seventh inning to erase a deficit and gain a 9-6 Lehigh Valley Legion victory over the Carbon Monarchs.
Carbon led by a run heading into the final frame, but two errors and an RBI single by Brady Derr allowed South Parkland to take the lead.
The Monarchs (2-10) received four hits - two of them doubles - from Ian Henkles, who also scored a run and knocked in one. Aiden Rarick chipped in with a double, two runs and an RBI.
For the winners, now 12-2-1, Kurt Meehan had two hits and a pair of runs. Sean Superka and Jack Streeter both finished with two hits, a run and an RBI.

Northern Valley-Salisbury
Salisbury held off Northern Valley for a 6-5 Lehigh Valley Legion victory.
The Chargers, down by three runs in the seventh inning, received a two-out, two-run double from Trey Sterling. But Salisbury pitcher Thomas Lovelidge recorded a strikeout one batter later to close out the game.
Sterling finished with two hits, while Jacob Fagan also collected a pair of hits and two RBIs. Nicklaus Buskirk added a pair of runs, and Robert Croneberger chipped in with a hit and an RBI.
For Salisbury, now 7-6, Matt Nunez and Michael Stauffer both had a double and an RBI.
Northern Valley dropped to 7-8.
