Personalized service: HVAC business says secret to success is answering phone

On the lookout for a reliable and affordable heating and cooling business?

Home Comfort Solutions LLC in Lehighton has you covered.

The family-owned and operated business recently held a ribbon cutting and open house at its new location at 325 Cypress St.

Owner Lou Accardi said the new headquarters is a far cry from when the business had to operate from out of their home.

“Just having a physical location for a business like ours,” Accardi said. “It’s the face of the business.”

The business specializes in heating, plumbing and air conditioning.

Accardi said they primarily serve customers in Lehighton, Palmerton, Jim Thorpe and throughout the rest of Carbon County, and portions of Monroe, Schuylkill, Lehigh, Northampton and Luzerne counties.

“We pride ourselves on our warranties,” he said. “We pride ourselves on being local.”

That isn’t all, Accardi noted.

“A lot of people are happy not only with the quality of the work, but they value our price range,” he said. “We guarantee our work.”

Accardi took it a step further.

“They’re really happy with the services provided,” he said. “Not only the quality, but they say our technicians on the job are really personable.”

His wife, Erin, who serves as co-owner, backed that statement up.

“We’ll make sure customers are happy and their systems are working properly,” Erin said. “We’re going to make it right.”

Accardi said customers also like the fact that it’s a family-owned and operated business.

The business employs about 10 people, with Accardi’s mother, Dena Kistler, son, Gaige Accardi, and uncle, Frank Hannon among them.

“What’s helped our business grow is we answer the phone,” he said. “They want to talk to someone, not just the machine.”

Accardi said they are a 24/7 business.

“I like being able to help people,” he said. “You’re going and saving the day, basically.”

Accardi said they put a training facility in their basement.

“We have the room and the facility to help out not only our technicians, but others to keep current with trainings,” he said. “We make the area better.”

Accardi said that in his line of work, “Every day is (like being) married to the business.

“If it wasn’t for my family, friends, customers, our Home Comfort crew, we wouldn’t be where we are,” he said.

Erin concurred with her husband’s sentiment.

“Without our (Home Comfort) crew, the quality of work, professionalism, that’s what built the reputation,” Erin said. “Everyone kind of helped.”
