Lehighton state police
State police at the Lehighton barracks reported on the following cases:
• A 66-year-old Lehighton man was arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol after a motor vehicle crash at 1:17 p.m. May 20 on West Lizard Creek Road in East Penn Township.
Police said he was driving a 2007 Ford Focus when the crash happened at 2556 W. Lizard Creek Road.
• Steven Samuels, 63, of Lehighton, is facing criminal trespass charges as a result of an incident that took place at 9:11 p.m. June 7 at a property on Arlene Drive in Chestnuthill Township.
Police said they were dispatched there for a report of a trespasser and learned from an interview with the victim, a 50-year-old woman from Effort, that Samuels was observed in the parking lot of the apartment building. Police said they were told he entered the unlocked vestibule of the building and made contact with the woman, initiating inappropriate conversation with her before fleeing the scene.
Police said he was later located when they were dispatched to a welfare check at Route 115 and Gilbert Road. Samuels was transported to a hospital for an evaluation related to health complaints, police said.
• Police said a 28-year-old woman from Saylorsburg who has a Protection From Abuse court order reported a violation.
Police said they were called at 1:59 p.m. June 9 to a property on Herbst Avenue, Ross Township, where the woman said she received a text message that violates the court order.
Identity theft case is under probe
• State police at the Lehighton barracks are investigating a theft by deception/identity theft case.
A 24-year-old Palmerton woman called police at 3 p.m. June 6 to a property on Interchange Road in Towamensing Township. She said someone accessed her Security number.
• A 38-year-old Summit Hill man is facing charges of driving under the influence of a controlled substance after a traffic stop.
They stopped him for a Motor Vehicle Code violation while he was driving a Dodge Durango at the intersection of Dinkey and West Lizard Creek roads in East Penn Township.
