‘Ping’ helps locate missing Monroe man

A “phone ping” that determines the estimated location of a cellphone was used to help police locate a missing Saylorsburg man. Troopers from the Lehighton barracks were summoned at 7:36 p.m. June 12 to a property on Amber Lane in Ross Township.

Police said the man, who suffers from Alzheimer’s disease, left his residence in his vehicle and was reported missing.

Police said the results of the “phone ping” showed him to be in Union, New Jersey, and the man was located by police in Middlesex, New Jersey.
