No injuries were reported when a Reading, Blue Mountain & Northern train collided with a tractor-trailer just before 10 a.m. Tuesday in Barnesville.
The incident happened on railroad tracks that cross Route 54 near the Barnesville Post Office and intersection of Grier Avenue.
The impact caused the trailer to split in two, and spill the used car batteries it was hauling over the road.
Hazardous materials crews were called to assist with cleanup.
The crash shut down Route 54 until just after 5 p.m. Traffic was detoured onto Tuscarora Mountain Road and Hillside Drive in Barnesville.
Rush Township police, Tamaqua EMS and fire companies from Ryan Township, Delano and Hometown responded to the scene.
