Northern Lehigh School Board — curriculum

Northern Lehigh School Board approved the following curriculum matters on Monday:

• Renewed contract with Canvas Learning Management System at a cost of $22,509, from July 1, 2023, until June 30, 2026, funded through the curriculum and instruction budget and each respective building budget.

• Renewed the district’s contract with Zearn at a cost of $13,500 for the period from July 1, 2023, until June 30, 2026, equally through the Slatington Elementary and Peters Elementary building budgets.

• CLIU #21 for Title I Services to nonpublic institutions for the 2022-2023 school year in the amount of about $4,258, pending final adjustment approval.

• Navigate360 as the Threat Assessment Tool at a cost not to exceed $2,818.

• CLIU Overdrive Consortium for the 2023-2024 school year to provide e-books, audiobooks and other digital content at a cost of $2,200.

• A one-year student license with Ori Learning for the Social Emotional-Learning Curriculum at a cost of $1,100 for the 2023-2024 school year, to be funded through Medical Access.

• Agreement between the district and Behavioral Health Associated License Private Academic School for regular education or special education programs for the students for the 2023-2024 school year.

• Teachers Jason Graver as helping teacher for Ziad Hadad, new teacher, at a stipend of $200; Matthew Davis as helping teacher for Abigail Merkle, $800; and Amy Shonk, helping new teacher Abigail Merkle, $200, in the Northern Lehigh School District Induction Program for the 2023-2024 school year.

• Staff assistant Heather Kenyon as a mentor for new employee Ashley Heydt; Karen Beltz, mentor for Amber Wells; Kathy Nowlin, mentor for new employees Tina Yocum and Heather Rehrig; Kyle Kreamer as mentor for new employee Kayleigh Snyder; and Ashley Heydt, mentor for Jamie Heydt, all at a stipend of $200.

• Apply for an Act 80 waiver for high school seniors for the 2022-2023 school year for four full days for in-service for staff development held on Oct. 10, 2022, Jan. 16, 2023, March 10, 2023, and May 15, 2023.

• Five-year agreement with Indiana University of Pennsylvania to provide practical experience and serve as an IUP field experience site offering facilities, resources, and supervision to students for academic credit.
