The Pennsylvania Senate yesterday, by a 49-0 vote, confirmed Attorney Roger Nanovic of Penn Forest Township as a judge in Carbon County. Nanovic will fill a vacancy created by the Feb. 16 retirement of President Judge John P. Lavelle.

Nanovic was nominated for the post by Gov. Tom Ridge.

In the May Primary Election, he won both the Republican and Democratic nominations for a 10-year term as Carbon County judge, which will begin next January.

Nanovic is partner in the Jim Thorpe law firm of Nanovic Law Offices.
