2 distilleries take over Lehighton micro distillery

A pair of Lehigh Valley area distilleries have taken over a popular micro distillery in Lehighton.

Insurrection Distillery LLC, at 201 N. Main Lane, made the announcement on its Facebook page Sunday thanking customers “for your past support and for sharing our final day.

“We have passed the baton and hope you will treat the new regime as well as you did us.”

Three Little Birds Distillery, in Macungie, posted on its Facebook page Sunday that it, along with Hop Hill Brewing Co., in Bethlehem, “would like to extend our most sincere thank you to the Insurrection Distillery team for being so welcoming yesterday. We wish Rod the best of luck in the future.

“We are happy to announce that the location has been passed to both Three Little Birds Distillery and Hop Hill Brewing, as we will work our hardest to keep the legacy of Insurrection alive in Lehighton.”

They also posted that as they move forward with this endeavor, they are hiring staff for the site. Anyone with questions regarding employment opportunities is asked to reach out to morgan@hophillbeer.com.

Insurrection Distillery ceased operations in April after nearly four years in business. The business was opened by Rod Walck and the late Anthony Serafino in the fall of 2019.

Located across from Dunbar Bottling Co., it featured micro single batch grains to glass distillates, along with craft-infused beers and wines.
