A Jim Thorpe gymnast and two Panther Valley singing groups emerged as winners in the third annual Carbon-East Schuylkill District 5 CYO Talent Contest held Saturday in Jim Thorpe. They included:

Fourth grade pupils at St. Joseph’s School, Summit Hill, comprised of Lori and Gina Rose, Joann Procina, Sharon Zuber and Debbie and Theresa Geusaic, who sang “You’re a Grand Old Flag.”

Fourth graders at St. Ann’s School, Lansford, Maureen Shaffron, Patti Gallagher, Mary Kay DeFebbo, Kathleen Dunn, Terri Bamford, Louise Ligenza, Maura Hydro, Susan Yacapsin and Cathy Lucas, who sang “The Sound of Music.”

And Nancy Sneer of St. Joseph School, Jim Thorpe, who did a mat routine to the tune of “The Alley Cat Dance.”
