Carbon County Court Judge Joseph J. Matika recently gave two men state prison sentences.
Steven Michael Margeson, 30, no address available, was charged by state police at Lehighton with receiving advance payment for services and failing to perform; access device fraud; and two counts of theft by deception on April 14, 2022.
He pleaded guilty to the failure to perform charge, and Judge Matika sentenced him to serve 5 to 24 months in state prison and pay $2,882.53 restitution to the victim.
The prison sentence is to be served at the same time as one imposed for a crime Margeson committed in Northampton County.
Judge Matika also ordered him to submit a DNA sample and pay the $250 fee, and to perform 25 hours of community service.
Kyle Troy Hummel, 31, Slatington, was charged by state police at Lehighton with firearms not to be carried without a license on Aug. 7, 2020.
Judge Matika sentenced him to serve 15 to 30 months in state prison. The prison sentence is to be served at the same time as one imposed for a crime Hummel committed in Northampton County.
Judge Matika also ordered him to pay court costs, and to undergo mental health and drug and alcohol evaluations.
