The Polk Township supervisors took the following actions during their meeting Monday evening.
• Received bids from Northeast Site Contractors and Heidelberg Materials for road work to be done this summer on Dotters Corner, Frantz and High Point roads. Heidelberg Materials bid of about $330,000 was $6,000 cheaper than Northeast’s bid. Supervisors voted 3-0 to hire Heidelberg Materials to do roadwork.
• Announced the Polk Township Veterans’ Memorial remembrance of 50th anniversary of withdrawal from Vietnam during its Memorial Day event on Sunday. It will take place at 2 p.m. at the memorial and Adams Faith Garden at the Salem-St. Paul Lutheran Church on Trach Road, Kresgeville. Bring a lawn chair - seating will not be provided.
• The Astronomy Club will host solar gazing events on June 10 and June 24 at 4 p.m., and star gazing events June 16 and June 29 at 8 p.m. at the township Walking Park’s northeast field.
