Local Roundup: Results from May 15
Tamaqua punched its ticket to the district playoffs with a non-league victory over Notre Dame East Stroudsburg on Monday.
In other games, Marian baseball and Weatherly softball suffered losses.

Tamaqua clinched a district playoff berth by rolling past Notre Dame East Stroudsburg, 15-1, in a non-league contest.
Luke Kane, Cian McLaughlin and Ryan Vecolitis all had two hits and two RBIs for the Blue Raiders, now 10-8. One of Kane’s hits was a home run.
McLaughlin added three runs, while Kane scored twice. The winners also received a pair of hits and two runs from Lucas Kamant.
Parker Oswald contributed a hit and three runs, and Wyatt Steigerwalt ended with a hit and two runs.
Mason Ligenza pitched all five innings for Tamaqua, allowing just two hits and one walk while striking out 11.

Minersville-Marian
Minersville received multiple hits from seven different players to gain a 14-4 victory over Marian in the consolation game of the Rothermel Tournament.
Connor Beck paced the Miners with a single, triple and four RBIs, while Lorenzo Yourey added a single, double and knocked in three runs. The winners, now 10-10, also received a single, double and two RBIs from Brock Polinsky.
For the Colts, who dropped to 10-9, Michael Gelatko homered and scored two runs. Joey Walko also chipped in with two hits, one a double, a run and an RBI, while Chase Petrilyak added a double and a run scored.
The victory clinched a district playoff berth for Minersville.

Lourdes-Weatherly
Lourdes scored three runs in the first inning and held on to post a 6-2 non-league victory over Weatherly.
Makayla Adams and Gabby Dusendschine both had two hits and a run scored for the Red Raiders. Dusendschine also had an RBI, while Cassidy Grimes chipped in with a hit and two runs.
Hailee Brown pitched the first three innings, striking out six, to earn the win.
For the Wreckers, Ava Sahaida reached base all three times with a hit and two walks, and also scored a run. Abigail Teodorescu also contributed a hit and an RBI.
Madisyn vonFrisch tossed all seven innings, allowing just two earned runs while striking out 12.
The loss dropped Weatherly to 12-7.

Lehighton-Pen Argyl
Jillian Bradley pitched a two-hit shutout Saturday to lead Pen Argyl to an 8-0 non-league victory over Lehighton.
Bradley only walked one and struck out 14 as the Green Knights finished regular-season play with a 17-3 record.
Haley Frey had two hits for the winners, while Grace Weaver and Andrea Black both had a hit and two RBIs.
The Indians’ two hits both came off the bat of Maggie Pagotto.
The loss ended Lehighton’s regular season at 8-12.
