State police at Fogelsville crashes
State police at Fogelsville reported on the following crashes:
• Alexander J. Koma, 28, of New Tripoli, was cited following a crash at 8:47 a.m. April 29 on Madison Street in Lynn Township. Police said he suffered minor injuries.
He was cited for failure to drive at a safe speed and other offenses.
Police said he was driving a 2012 Kia Sedona northbound at an unsafe speed when he looked away from the roadway to pick up his cellphone from the passenger’s seat. The car went off the roadway and the car’s mirror struck two mailboxes, a fence and house at 6728 Madison Street.
The car had disabling damages and was towed from the scene.
• Thomas R. Williams, 63, of New Ringgold, was cited after a two-vehicle crash at 4:36 a.m. April 21.
It happened on Interstate 78 in Upper Macungie Township. No one was injured in the incident.
Police did not provide the details of the crash. The other driver was James A. Jones, 62, of Baltimore, Maryland, who was driving a 2020 tractor trailer. Williams was operating a 2003 Dodge Durango.
• Amy L. Zentz, 44, of New Tripoli, was cited with careless driving after a one-vehicle crash at 4:20 a.m. April 23 on Holbens Valley Road in Weisenberg Township. She was uninjured in the incident.
She was driving a 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee westbound when it went off the road and struck a utility pole. The vehicle continued and struck a mailbox and two traffic signs. Police said multiple wires were brought down by the crash and the road was shut down for about 11 hours.
Police said Zentz was not at the scene when they arrived. She was contacted later in the day.
Police said the Jeep had disabling damages and was towed from the scene.
• Stephen J. Sieger, 49, of Tamaqua, was uninjured when a truck he was operating struck a deer at 6:13 a.m. April 19 on Route 309 in Lynn Township.
Police said he was operating a 2009 Dodge Ram 1500 southbound when the deer entered its path.
Police said the front bumper area of the truck was wedged into the front left tire and the truck needed to be towed from the scene.
• Dennis A. Dikowski, 74, of Albrightsville, was cited for a stop sign violation after a two-vehicle crash at 2:53 p.m. April 10 at the intersection of Route 309 and Mountain Road in Lynn Township.
Police said he was driving a 2010 Chevrolet Silverado that ran a stop sign and pulled out in front of a vehicle operated by Michael G. Brubaker, 32, of Tamaqua, causing the collision.
Police said it is unknown if Dikowski was injured, but said neither Michael Brubaker nor his passenger, Pamela Brubaker, 35, also of Tamaqua, were hurt.
• Stephen J. Sieger, 49, of Tamaqua, was uninjured in a crash at 6:13 a.m. April 19 on Route 309 in Lynn Township.
Police at the Fogelsville barracks said he was driving a 2009 Dodge pickup truck south when a deer crossed the roadway from the east shoulder. Police said the truck impacted the deer, causing disabling damages that required it to be trowed from the scene.
