I am writing to encourage readers to cast their vote for Billy O’Gurek, my brother, for magistrate district judge in the May 16 primary election. While I no longer reside in the area, I’m excited at the possibility of Billy serving the great people of the community I still visit often and consider home.

While Billy’s personal and professional experience have been well advertised throughout his campaign, I feel compelled to speak more directly as to why I personally believe he is the best candidate to preside as MDJ - his character. Those who know him will attest: Billy is thoughtful, loyal, hardworking and genuine - so much so that those words seem insufficient to capture just how much he embodies those traits. He is committed to justice and fairness and his entire life has always strived to do what’s right.

Those qualities are what’s made him a trusted coach and invaluable mentor to dozens of young athletes, a diligent and conscientious leader and collaborator on Summit Hill’s Borough Council and a reliable and valued volunteer to numerous organizations over the past two decades - all roles he has taken on because of his commitment to his community and his desire to give back.

As MDJ, I know Billy will work tirelessly for the people of the area, focusing on ensuring safety and stability while treating everyone he comes across with dignity, respect and an unbiased eye. His sound judgment, even temperament and ability to consider all sides of a matter with an open mind, all shaped by genuine compassion for the humans around him, make him an ideal choice for the role of magistrate district judge.

For these reasons, please consider supporting Billy O’Gurek for magistrate district judge this Tuesday.
