A donation of $5,000 was given to Jacob’s United Church of Christ, Weissport, by a Rochester, New York, resident who members of the congregation probably have never ever heard of.

The check came from George J. Harward, who presented it in honor of the Rev. William Solt, a native of Weissport who pastored Trinity UCC in Rochester from 1961-80.

Harward, a member of the Trinity church, decided to make the donation to Rev. Solt’s hometown church. A son of the late Mr. and Mrs. William Solt of Lehighton, he was ordained at Jacob’s church in 1955.
