The Galleria at Split Rock Lodge, Lake Harmony, a superb resort and convention center in the Poconos, came in for multitudinous accolades Wednesday night on the occasion of its formal opening and introduction to the public.

Visitors came from near and far, from low and high estate, but all had the same expression of amazement at what has occurred since 1981, when W. Jack Kalins, a former Pocono farm lad who worked to become one of the region’s business leaders, realized a lifelong dream with the purchase of the Kidder Township property.

That dream came to full reality with the construction of the Galleria, a luxury hotel and sports complex that defies description.
